I'm going to make this as brief as possible because honestly, I don't have too much to say about my week. It's been non-stop: work, work, work. Which isn't bad whatsoever! It just leaves out time for me to be with my friends. So today I'm taking my free time (yes on a tuesday) and having as much fun as possible! Wish me luck you guys-as always, pictures will be uploaded onto the blog of my outfit (which I have to say is simple yet super sexy!)
Weight loss: I'm almost done to 30 pounds off of me! Yippee for moi! I am having a love/hate relationship with working out right now. I'm trying to recreate the experience I had while at the work out center in Purdue (where I ran 7 miles 3 days on the trip) but I seem to be lacking energy half way through. I know-baby steps. But after going what I thought was the impossible, I'm doubting (or maybe the better word is questioning) my capabilities. Any tips/suggestions? I'm scared as ever to plateau as well. I'm drinking water like a crazy maniac to flush everything out of my system. On the plus side, people are starting to notice that I'm loosing weight. It feels good to have these small accomplishes to finally result into something positive.
Singing: I will be posting videos on youtube! I might have lost my voice for a time and period :/ during my trip and had to take a vocal rest. The only word that seems appropriate is that it " sucked" big time. I know I'm not the only one who likes singing while they're in the shower. I'm just a bit of a perfectionist when I sing. Or at least I try to be. It was hard to hit notes that I could usually. Maybe I'm going through a vocal change, but honestly I just think I was over worked and it was my bodies way of telling me to relax a bit.
Blog:I have decided, for my best interest, that I will be posting at least once a month a reflection piece or commentary on an occurring event in the media. This blog is a fusion of what I do, and I miss writing journalistic pieces and adding my two cents about on going events!
Summer list: Went to a food truck the other day and order a dessert! The food truck is from celebrity and local chef Andrew Zimmerman. I love the fact that he makes ethnic food from around the world and mixes them together. I had shaved ice mix with pound cake added with Nicaraguan Dulce de leche. It was amazing. The pictures do not do this treat justice! It was great for a nice hot summer day and was just sweet enough. My sister, mom and I shared this and thought it was pure perfection. Have you tried any of his delicacies before?

An edit of all the faces I make while singing. I found it to be so funny. Am I really this ridiculous? |

At Purdue, ready for a great adventure ahead! |
For my trip last week, I really wanted to stay healthy and be active throughout the entirety of my vacation. After all, who wants to feel crappy when they are on vacation? Here are some tips that helped me loose weight while being away from home:
1) Before departing, look to see where the nearest gym is located. Since I was close to Purdue's campus-I decided to work out in their new Rec Center (it was seriously mind boggling). If you are staying at a hotel, look before hand and plan accordingly.
2) Even if you don't think you are going to work out-bring the proper clothes. Don't be that person that decides they want to work out at a drop of a hat but can't because they didn't pack the necessary outfits. By even packing them, makes you motivated.
3) Have a good pair of walking shoes! This will allow you to explore the city you are in without the blisters. You can still look fashionable while wearing great shoes that help support you. Who wants to have a vacation moping around in pain over their feet pain? Not me!
4) Make a playlist on your ipod. I found this to be really helpful during my trip. I didn't like the music being played at the gym. So instead of moping around I made a playlist. This allowed me to become excited and kept me staying pumped throughout my entire workout. Who doesn't love hearing a good mix of Britney Spears and NSYNC while working out?
5) Invite others to work out with you! You most likely aren't the only person who wants to get a good sweat in during your vacation. If you are traveling with friends or family, ask them. It doesn't hurt you. The worse response you're going to get is a "no". Working out can be a good bonding activity as well as a competition for the both of you!
Here are some pictures that I took of my train ride back and forth from Chicago and Indiana. Hope you like :)
The title pretty much states it all. Unfortunately, the wifi at the location we were at on the vacation did not work. I know, excuses excuses. So I wasn't able to blog the entire trip. Sad face-right?!? I had a great time and will post pictures tomorrow. Since the trip, I have completed so many things off of my bucket list for summer 2013! I took my drivers test and passed. Honestly, this was one of the most nerve racking things I have ever done in my life. Needless to say, I realized the repercussions of procrastinating. I am also int the works of doing a photo-shoot to add more pictures onto my resume for photography. I'm super excited to be doing this. In addition, I am making a college group with some of my girlfriends and will be the head of this committee. I can already see that this fall is going to be crazy! Which is good, because the more craziness the better. If you saw from my tweets, I stopped by in Chicago. I was trying to meet the Jonas Brothers and possibly play volleyball but my train came in too late. It was devastating. Ok, maybe I'm being a bit too dramatic. Nonetheless, I was saddened that I still haven't met my favorite band. Yes, I know, I'm a hot mess. Here are some pictures of my outfit for the first day of the trip on Monday. Mind you, it was an 8 hour train ride so this isn't a fashion show. I wanted to look cute while in Chicago waiting for my delay but also be casual. I think this outfit was great for traveling because of its versatility (which Minnesotans ace in doing!).I choose to go outside of the train station and walk around for a bit because the train was delayed. I always have wanted to take pictures along train tracks ( I know my inner teeny bopper is coming out!) . There's something about the rustic look and the fact that most of the buildings surrounding the tracks are abandoned that leave me in awe. So much of our industry in America has changed because of technology in such a short period of time. Hope you all enjoy the pictures of the station before the begging of my voyage as well as the updated list!

I always have in my head that the fourth of July is the half way point of the summer. Honestly, I hope this isn't true because I have been lacking sleep (and some precious time hanging out with my friends as well). I love work but it is exhausting me sometimes. My sleep schedule is bonkers and I do not have enough time (or energy for that matter) to socialize. I am so tired that I am rubbing my eyes and yawing every sentence that I type out. Its a good thing that I have vacation next week. Just kidding. My vacation entitles me to chaperone10 high school teens. Not your typical vacation. I'm going to try my best to channel in my Mother-Theresa and have a halo gracing my head the entire trip. I intend to blog the entirety of the trip. I'm bringing a long my trusty little lap top along to type the journey away. There's something about writing on trains-maybe its the amount of movies that I watch-but that allow me to have hope that maybe I'll be able to write a book in a short 8 hour time frame. After all, the concept of Harry Potter came about on a train. Not that I would be writing something as great as Harry Potter. Or for the matter that I would be even capable of doing so.
My weight loss journey has been going well. Before my weight loss 'journey' I was scared to even step on the scale in fear of what the numbers were going to be. Now, at least twice a week I check how much I weigh. Better then ever two years, right?!? I know a lot of people have said this, but drinking fluids is the key here (water guys) to loosing weight. I'm now even more addicted to popcorn then ever before as well as salsa because they are so healthy.I know that I still have a ways to go, but I am excited to go back to school and feel (and look) better then ever before. I never realized that I was-and still am-over weight until this year. I don't think it set into my head that I was over weight until there was a possibility in Feburary of meeting my favorite band. I remember thinking in my head " I wish that I was skinnier/healthier when I met them, I'm not ready". Of course this weight lost journey isn't just to impress the Jonas Brothers. Trust me, I've tried that before and it hasn't gone well. This weight lost journey is for myself. Not for the boy in my math class that I have been trying for him to notice me. Not for my parents. Not for the media who says that you need to be a certain weight/size. Myself. The reason for why I'm loosing weight, I believe, is the key reason for why I'm doing so well (and getting results) compared to before. Compared to other times, I wasn't loosing weight for myself. I was doing it because others told me I was fat. Looking back, I wish that I would have realized that I wasn't heavy weight. Instead of eating away at my emotions I should have blocked those thoughts of others out. Instead of going drastic then and only eating 300 calories a day, I should have learned about how to MAINTAIN my weight instead of believing that I could live off of the minimum amount. I am glad that I am at a better place both mentally and physically now and cannot wait to loose even more weight for myself. I have had people tell me that you can never be selfish. That it's "looked down upon" if you do. I don't believe that. When it comes to your health, you should be selfish. You need to take action and get your body in the best condition possible. I hope for any of you guys reading this, that I can be an example of how weight loss is a benefit for people. I have never been more active in my life. I am walking a minimum of 3 miles a day. Biking, playing tennis and volleyball, swimming and even more! Honestly, what are you waiting for? You have nothing to loose other than pounds!
On that note, here is the list of things that I have completed with some pictures. I cannot believe how much I have done so far. It has been amazing! Cannot wait to complete the rest of the list for the summer!
