If you're a wine drinker like myself, you have had a slip up or two with your outfits every now and then. Usually I just let it slip and out of sheer laziness buy another outfit. Then, as I was taste testing 20 different types of wine, I spilled red wine on my favorite dress. I was devastated and was clueless on the process of how to eliminate wine from my cute summer dress. Fortunately my inner Martha Stewart came to the rescue (with the help of Google). Here's what I did in order to eliminate wine in less than 30 minutes.

    1. Blot, don't rub. Dab at the stain with a damp, white cotton cloth to absorb any excess wine,
    2. Pull the fabric taut. Slide a bowl under the fabric, centering the stain over the bowl. ...
    3. Sprinkle salt.,
    4. Add boiling water,
    5. Machine-wash,
    6. And voila! You have your favorite piece of clothing back :)

As many of you guys know, I will be moving soon to France with TAPIF . One of the exciting new changes (in addition to moving to a different country) is crossing some things off of my big girl bucket list. One of them includes getting my first place and decorating it! You might remember from my other DIY inspired posts  that I have a slight obsession with decorating my room. So the idea of decorating an apartment by myself can seem a bit daunting and exciting at the same time. Fortunately my friends from Chairish Collections are here to help me create some inspiration! One of my must lists for my new place is to have a 'woman' cave- a place where my friends and family can hang out and have light drinks and snacks. There's many ways that you can style and furnish a room. For myself, I find it helpful to furnish around a centerpiece or piece of furniture. Below are just a few examples of how I styled some of Chairish Collections amazing bar stools. Whether you want to be sweet and classic or modern this company has the bar stool for you to create the best room possible. So get ready to be inspired- because it's time to start decorating!

    1. Room #1
Custom Nautical Teak Bar Stools- Set of 3
For this room I wanted to use the wood features from the top of the bar stool and metallic structure of the bar stool to create a modern and rustic feeling in the room. This is a great room to hang out with friends and have a drink. With shelves the room becomes more spacious so that you can add extra chairs around the table and create a fun time for all. Cheers!

    2. Room #2
    Mid-Century Hairpin Stools- Pair

For this room I wanted to emphasize the classic feeling that the chairs give while giving off a modern edge. By having black and white photos with an emphasis in pink you get a simple put sweet look in the room. This room is a great place to have macaroons and some pink champagne with your girlfriends. With the chairs having a modern back rather than a sweetheart look, the room maintains a romantic edge while staying sleek and modern.

    3. Room #3
Phyllis Morris Silver Bamboo Bar stools-Pair

In this room I wanted to showcase how modern yet comfortable these Bamboo styled chairs are. By keeping with the silver and blue hues throughout the room, the chairs become a staple within the room rather than just another collection of objects. This room is great for a larger group of chic girlfriends to have an awesome night in.

As a photographer, it can sometimes feel crazy trying to organize your room while showcasing your work. My bedroom is not only an oasis for myself, but also an art exhibit for my friends and family that visit. The question then arrives of how to show my photos in a way that doesn't make it seem like I'm creating a giant collage of random pictures. After all, if this was a gallery that these pictures were being presented into they would have to follow a theme.

So how do I mix shots of the Eiffel Tower into my bedroom without clashing with my overall tropical theme? Very carefully. Here are just a few tips and inspiration on how to showcase your work (whether your a professional photographer or not) in your very own private oasis and showroom. .

#1) Create themes for your doors

Think about it- doors are in a sense like a blank canvas. You can pretty much do whatever you want in terms of decorating a door. For myself, I created themed doors based off of what is in my closet. My fancy dresses have a Parisian theme, my more casual clothes has a tropical theme, and my 'hometown' door opens towards the rest of the house. By making themes for doors allows for you to filter what pictures should go were while having the possibility of creating whatever you want.

#2) Get a board to pin stuff on

Great styling on this DIY pinboard! Alaina Kaczmarski's Lincoln Park Apartment Tour #theeverygirl:
    From PopSugar

Similar to doors, boards are a great way to express yourself as an artist. I've seen some people decorate boards and put them together at the head of the bed. It's honestly a fun way for people (like myself) who are prone to changing out there pictures alot. Not only do these boards allow versatility but they won't damage your valuables (such as taping your photos onto a dresser persay). It's a perfect first step for someone who wants to have a pop of photography in their bedroom.

#2) Hang your photos in a unique fashion

Whether you hang your photos on string or fairy lights this is one of my favorite and creative options to show off a large portion of photos. It can be kinda tricky to think about how you are going to hang these photos but remember- part of being creative is solving problems such as these while making it look aesthetically pleasing.

    #3) Don't just frame it

    Photo from Pinterest
Frames are soooo last year. Instead of just opting to print a photo and put it into a frame, try a creative idea such as the one above were you can showcase not one photo, but multiple. Fantastic idea right?

#5) Spruce up your study space

studyblr-heaven: Pretty sure this is too much beauty for one photo.:
    From studying-hard.tumblr.com
Sometimes there's a magic in being subtle. If you're someone like myself that is always trying to find a way to put up that new photo adding a background to your study space just might be the right solution. It's subtle but adds to the look of the bedroom making studying actually (kinda) fun.

#5) If you're going to create a collage- have a purpose

    this-space-here-is: ❤️:
    From dormstrends.tumblr
I'm not a big fan of  collages but if you are going to do it- have a plan. I like the idea of having shaped collages so that you are creating a larger image from multiple images. If you're going to do collages make sure to have an executive plan in order before you set install the pictures together on your wall.

My room was a mess today, and I felt like I was in need of a change so I set out to organize my bedroom. Here are some simple tricks to help keep your room organized and cute :)

#1) Bras: They can be the hardest to organize. They're expensive and yet so clumsy at times. I was inspired from Pintrest when I saw this girl had organized her lingerie similar to Victoria Secret. So naturally, I had to try. I took a cardboard box, cut off the top and set my sassy bras inside. Pretty simple and if I do say so myself, it looks pretty cute.
#2)Decorations : Everyone loves to have decorations in the room. But what to put is and how can be tricky. As a photographer, I love to capture pretty much every single moment of my life. I believe that it's good to fill your room with positive energy. What could be better than having a room surrounded of pictures of you and your loved ones? I used string and paper clips in order to hang these pictures up in my room. Its cute an easy to do!

#3) Get your vintage on: I'm a concert junkie so naturally I have preserved every concert ticket and wristband that I have ever worn. As mentioned before, I also love to take pictures. What could be a better combo than polaroid pictures with concert tickets? It give that vintage vibe with the armoire that it's on while still looking chic. In addition, I have collected vintage jewelry boxes as props of decoration. I love how they look and are great an organized way to put your jewelry in!

#4) Purses: I have always had a difficult time finding how to organize my purses let alone keep them from falling off of the shelves. I'm one to collect my shopping bags and recycle them. I put my old Victoria Secret shopping bags inside of the purses, opened up the bag, and the purses sit perfectly. I think this alternative is better than putting cardboard or a book (yes I've used a book) to prop up my purses. You want to preserve your purses as much as possible while also showcasing them!

#5) Organizing scarfs: Living in Minnesota, there are scarves that are considered weather and non-weather appropriate depending on the time of year. I have color coded and sorted out the scarves for this season in the front and have put my winter ones, which are folded, behind. Remember that you're not always going to have the time to be like Cher and stare at your closet endlessly. Your life is hectic, and having something to grab quick (that will actually keep you warm in the winter!) is a must.

I'm still in the process of organizing my room so look for a second update as well!
    See you soon :)
