Lets just say the party was prolonged for a couple of extra days :)
Me getting some sun-a rarity here.

One of my girlfriends left today for the rest of the summer so I have been hanging out with her this week. It's going to be terrible without her. If I don't save up enough money I most likely will not see her until next summer. That means a whole YEAR without her. This cannot happen. That is why I have made my bucket list fun yet so economically friendly! I will be adding extra things onto the list from Minneapolis/St Paul magazine's 'best of summer' issue (June 2013). It has 120 ways to spend the summer. I think that will have more than enough ideas of what I can do. I decided today to show you my main reason for doing this project in the first place. You've probably heard of his song 'Clouds' lately. Being from Minnesota, I found Zach's story to be very touching. Even though I don't see myself taking my music 'career' actually as a serious thing I loved the power that one song has and the amount it has impacted on not only my state but the entire WORLD. It might sound vain of me, but I hope that one day I can do something similar to Zach. He made the concept of #YOLO into something that wasn't cheesy or made getting drunk or doing stupid stuff into an actual excuse. Yes I might have used YOLO as my crutch this year as a freshman in college for my reasoning for my actions. But in a serious manner Zach had a crazy good idea. He wanted everyone to know that you should take EVERY SINGLE DAY and cherish it. For not only the times that you're feeling high as if you were on top of the world or in the clouds, but also for the lows. This act of embracing life to its fullest (and sometimes its cheesiest) as well is what I hope to do this summer. Call this Eat Pray and Love but with a sprinkle of making the world better by volunteering as well. I want to voice out my opinions and help others. What or where that voice is at the moment is unknown, but I guess that's the reason why I'm writing this blog. To find out what that UNKNOWN actually is. So that, once I find out who I am (or at least have a better understanding of it) I might be able to realize what my passions are so that I can become the voice I hope to be someday. With that said I'll leave you with one of my favorite videos of Zach. Though I didn't know Zach personally, I believe that this video does him justice and will help preserve his message for the generations to come.

Here is my latest cover from my Youtube page. Please tell me what you think of my signing and if you have any tips. I was thinking of adding onto my list of doing a week of posting a cover each day. How cool would that be?!? So here's another thing to add onto the list!
I will update you guys if possible on what I did later tonight. I have a goodbye party/birthday party/kick off to summer party tonight so I'll try my best to write something (most likely) before I head off. Because really who wants to be writing a blog post when they're hanging out with their friends? Not this girl!
Tell me what you think of my latest cover!

I on accident deleted my lovely (and long) post about what I did last weekend for the challenge. I'm not going to go into detail as I did last time but I will use this as a lesson to remember to save ALL post.

#1) Watched all the Scream Movies in a row.
    http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110425143026/charmed/images/f/fb/Scream-Still_001.jpg
             * Favorite (In order): Scream, Scream 4, Scream 2 and Scream 3
             * Likes: The concept of a movie within a movie (which is very Shakespearean), Drew Barrymore, the hot delusional boyfriend in the first movie's great acting chops (lol pun intended) and of course the  amount of gore
             * Dislikes: How all the killers motives were the same (come on!). Does everyone have to blame the movies for their madness? Can't you at least say video games for the 4th one? The fact that the movies were suppose to be a trilogy....with four movies. And finally how predictable the killers were, made it almost into a cheesy drama movie instead of what the movies genera was intended to be: a horror movie.

#2) Started reading 'Black Like Me'http://jobryantnz.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/il_fullxfull-79060564.jpg
             * So far read 50 pages of it
             * From what I've read there are only likes for the book. I find it fascinating that someone had the idea to be the subject rather than the typical 'third-person' in journalism. I'm usually not a big fan of biographies/journals but this book is amazing so far! I know I must sound vague as heck but remember that I've only read 50 pages or so of the book.

#3) Hung out with family and friends for memorial day weekend

The weather here hasn't been helping make the challenge easy. I want to go outside with friends and hangout in the park or walk around. Unfortunately, there is only so much rain a person can take. I'm usually all for it because it gives me an excuse to get out my red rain boots but enough is enough already! Today, instead of moaning about the weather. I took advantage if my free time and continued reading Black Like Me. I really think it would be fascinating to do a piece similar to this in the present day. I've read about similar concepts if the writer becoming the subject. For example, last year a girl faked a pregnancy (high school junior) to see what people's reactions would be. It was fascinating to read in this SeventeenMagazine  article how people's views shifted/altered. It reminds me if the show:What would you do? Whenever I each it I hope deep done that if a similar event occurred I would do what was morally right. Call me egotistical, but I would love for people to recognize my actions as the correct and maybe even dignified. But I'm dreaming again.
In addition to reading the book I have been hanging out with friends getting those first few memories of summer in. I can't believe that I only have two of these left until I have to become part of the real world where I don't have week or monthlong breaks. I will for sure miss that. Other than that nothing too monumental has occurred. Hope everyone is doing well!

For my next challenge, I decided to go back to go to one of my favorite Deli's in the Twin Cities with one of my girlfriends. This post is no is an advertisement. I've always wanted to write a short 'food critique' as well so think of this as a double whammy when it comes to my Summer Challenge:
Red Velvet Pattie from the first visit at the Cheeky Monkey Deli

A while ago I went with one of my girlfriends to one of my favorite eateries, the Cheeky Monkey Deli, in the Twin Cities. I don't go too often into the Deli, but every time I do step foot into their I am more than thrilled to be their. The atmosphere and of course, the great food, is also more than up to par. Compared to lot's of  places nearby, the Deli offers a great selection for a great price (seeing that were college students you can understand that we love a good bargain).  It was on our conjoined bucket-list for the summer to go back and have one of the delicious cake patties. Last time, we had the opportunity to have the red cake (one of my favorite cakes by far). The great thing about the patties is that the amount is just right for two people. Not too much cake, but just enough to keep you satisfied. This time for the bucket-list we decided to venture out and try the lemon cake. Seeing that I am not a big fan of cake myself (especially when dry) I was more than impressed with the cake. The cake was moist and had the best ever cream cheese filled frosting. To say that I felt like I was in heaven was an understatement. I will for sure be back to try more of the patties!

Yesterday, I decided to take the opportunity to take a few pictures of my dog. He has been a great part within my life (10 years now) and  has always given me a smile on my face no matter what state of mind I was before I eneter my home door. I don't know what dogs do to create such hapinees, specifically mine, but I just love him. Wow, I sound like such a creeper or a 'dog-lady' to you guys talking about my love for my dog. A lot of people describe their dogs as a memeber of their family. For mine, its exactly how we feel. Unfortunately, time is limited with our beloved family dog and I had always planned on doing a photoshoot with him. He's always has had health issues. When he was longer he would have terrible seizure and now he has a mass tumor on his leg. Though it might sound as if he has had a terrible life as a dog I would say that we have tried our best to give him a comfortable and luxiourious life. I'm not jocking around when I say that this dog has the life of Riley at times. This photoshoot was a great time bonding experience for me and him. I certainly had a few shared laughs with the dog and even let him jump to give me a lick on the nose. Yes, I let my dog lick me on the nose ladies and gentlemen. These photos will be a great reminder for when the unfortunate time does come, to remeber the great times we did have together. He will always, now and forever, give me smiles. I hope you see the adorable little white furball as loving and adorable as I do.

So it's time that I give this blog the must needed (and deserved) attention. School is finally over and I can give this blog the much-needed revamping and posting as possible. I want to share with you an idea that I've had for a while. I think this will be a great way to re-vamp the blog and make this summer one of the best yet. So here it goes:
This summer, I will be writing down all my adventures day by day. Why? Well, I always seem to write many lists/resolutions but never fulfill them. I know I'm not the only one that comes up with pipe dreams and let them be just that, imaginary or unfulfilled. Seeing how actually DOING one of my New Years resolutions (making my YouTube channel) was/is such a success I thought it would be a great idea to attempt, hence the word attempt, to make a 'bucket-list' for the summer come to life. Some things/activities will be small while other ones might be a bit more grand and daring. Sometimes it is those little things that rock and  can make you more happy than that one humongous dream you've had. I'm not going to have a certain event/activity prescribed for each day of this summer. Rather, I'm going to write down as many ideas that I have and try to have them come to life. I hope that you, the readers, can help join in as well. If you have any ideas that you would  like ME to fulfill/accomplish please feel free to write in your suggestions. I hope that these blog post this summer will show that you don't have to have a terminal illness or a tragic event occur to you in order to receive a rude awakening that life is precious. No. I want this summer to be an opportunity for not only myself, but others to realize that their is good and beauty in the world no matter where you go. I am not asking for any money. Rather, I'm just asking for your support and guidance into helping me with this new adventure. So here it goes! This is day #1, the creation of this project "It's time for a change: By Sabrina".
