Winter Wear: Baby it's cold outside

In Minnesota right now it has been freezing. I'm not one to usually complain about the weather out here since I've pretty much have become acclimated with the sub zero temperatures, but with the wind- damn that is a whole different story. I've also noticed myself becoming more creative as the temperatures drop to maintain staying warm while still looking semi-fashionable. And let me tell you, it is difficult.. If you're anything like me, jackets are a must have in Minnesota. They are a staple piece that keeps you warm and sheltered in from the wind while maintaining a cool and collective attitude while the wind slams into your face. The snow-pants and the puffy jackets from elementary school are now in the trash, and I have now graduated to having a good 'big girl' jacket in my adult life. After all, jackets are not only an investment put a staple piece in the Minnesota Wardrobe. Here are a few of my favorite jackets that I'm in love with right now.

#1) Calvin Klein Faux-Fur- Trim Jacket: My sister and I both have this jacket ( I have the long coat version while she has the short). I truly believe that the fur hoodie makes this jacket sleek and dramatic while out in the cold.  In addition, the long coat keeps pretty much every body part snug and warm throughout your journeys in the cold tundra known as Minnesota.

#2)  H& M leather black jacket: When I saw this jacket at the store I feel in love. Not only is it slimming, but it looks bad ass with the zippers and leather detail that make it look like a crossover between a motorcycle jacket and a trench coat.

#3) Faux Fur Jacket, Urban Outfitters :  There's something so effortless about Faux Fur Jacket's that I love. With Minnesota's weather fluctuating this is a great piece to wear when it's a bit warmer outside. Whether you're wearing jeans and a t-shirt or a little black dress, a faux fur jacket glam's up a look in a second. If you're on a budget like I am look at local thrift stores for some great and unique coats that you won't be able to find anywhere else!

#4) Calvin Klein- Lord & Taylor: If you want to go for a look that is more 'on trend' rather than something more classic veer towards coats that have more of a metallic look on them. This gives your a modern look while keeping yourself warm as well.

#5) Leopard Coat, Forever 21: With the sun setting faster than ever and the days just looking plain gloomy adding a leopard coat to your winter wardrobe might just be the best solution. It's bold and classic at the same time. Just remember to stick to one print when wearing this fierce jacket.
